Laurie brought the steel hoop around, as well as the rotisserie frame which he had made for his Citroen restoration project.
The hoop had only been rolled, not welded. Laurie did a great job cutting the hoop to size and then, after alignment, welding the ends together.

He also welded the roller trunnions to the frame.
I will do a few minor jobs on it over the weekend. On Monday we will trial fit the hoop to the fuselage.
I will also try to finish the wood circle hoop, routed out from an old cafe table, which will be used to steady the tail section of the fuselage.
After I announced that one of the regrets I have is never to have learned to weld properly, Laurie offered me a few 3.2 mm welding sticks, saying that he finds these to be particularly easy to use. However, there’s no way that I can match his skills with a welder any time soon, so I thankfully declined his kind offer.
I would like to thank Laurie for donating his Citroen rotisserie frame for our project. We would never have finished this job in a day without it.
