The nut plates were fitted into the frames and secured with M2 stainless steel c’sk screws. I was going to use small wood screws but didn’t like the idea in the end. This is a much sounder way to hold the nut plates in their recesses.

As I was fitting the nut plates, the postie arrived with the M5 x 12 button head socket screws to hold the shelves to the frame – how’s that for timing! They incorporate a decent size washer and a socket head for an allan key so tightening them will be easy even with the inwards sloping sides of the luggage compartment.
I glued the frames into the deck using epoxy/cotton flock mix.

Laurie has signed off for the year, he’s going to be in Q’land till 20.1.26. We dicussed getting a quote from a local supplier/applier of vinyl decals, and Laurie emailed the Stork motif that we want to apply.

The colour doesn’t reproduce well here, it will be a much closer match to our blue trim.
Laurie is also thinking of putting another Stork shape on the tail but I’m not too sure – doesn’t appeal to me yet, maybe I’ll learn to like it…
