Liz and I have been away on a short holiday, up to Armidale via Thunderbolt Way, across to Dorrigo, Bellingen and Urunga via Waterfall Way, then back home via Port Macquarie, all very pleasant.
Yesterday Ed and I finished the drum brake installation on our club’s PW 6, turned out well and was signed off by Cam. Rob Moffat called today to advise he would do the stitching of the rear stick cover which had been repaired by Laurie. He will also check the logbook entry to ensure it conforms with GFA requirements.
Today we had the vinyl decals applied by Triton Graphics. The husband and wife team did a very professional job and we’re really pleased with the results.

I’ve started making a mold plug for a fibreglass mudguard. This hopefully will reduce the amount of crap that would otherwise get flung into the wheel well. I still have memories of scaping out the s..t that had accumulated during KYU’s time in the sheep paddock at Southern Tablelands GC.
I also received a bunch of LN bolts which I had ordered from Maddog Aviation in Brisbane. After all the toing and froing, it was great to find a source not halfway around the planet.
Lauire will get busy next week with applying the blue paint details at the top of the fin and to the nose, as well as on the canopy skirts.
Also on the to do list is the re-fitting of all the metal hinges to ailerons, elevators and the rudder, as well as the re-attachment of the skid assembly. We established that Dyneema rope is available in blue for the lacing of the blue skid fabric. He’s also visiting an upholsterer at Warners Bay today, the local guy not showing up as arranged, to get a quote for the seat cushions for which we got the foam some time ago.
